Sunday mass

Santa Maria degli Angeli down the hill from Asissi is a huge Basilica built on the site of St Anthony's prayer cell and death.  This statue of St Anthony includes a live dove. A rainy misty day that calls for a cappuccino and a cornetto after mass.

  1. Barry & I are enjoying your blog with all the photos and information you are sharing. You must be feeling like a native after 2 weeks. And you still have 2 more to go! What fun. Beautiful Fall weather here and colorful foliage.

  2. How does the live dove stay on the statue? I bet cornetto rivals gelatto.

  4. We weren't sure since it seemed quite content looking around at us. We suspected birdseed in St Anthony's hands but never saw it eat. MMm?
As for cornetto vs. Gelato the little coffee bar had a big selection of gelato which the kids had..cones with 3 flavors each. Their parents Rachel and Chris and I opted for capuchino lungo which is a double so it comes out the size of an American coffee. Also a shelf of fresh pastries hence the cornetto choice. The kids said selection and taste warrant a return visit.
